Case study

IGNOTUS

A Shopify storefront for a streetwear label and events brand

The client

IGNOTUS is a UK streetwear brand that also runs club nights in Manchester venues — late house, garage and deep house events. It’s a hidden gem in the scene: a label with a real following in both music and clothing, run by people who are part of the culture rather than selling to it from the outside.

The brief

Two jobs in one site. It had to sell clothing properly, and it had to give the events equal billing — because for this brand they aren’t separate businesses, they’re the same thing. Most streetwear sites treat the shop as the whole story; this one needed to work as a storefront and a showcase at once.

What we built

A custom Shopify storefront, built from the ground up rather than bolted onto a stock theme. The shop handles the clothing; a dedicated events pathway sits alongside it, giving the nights their own space rather than burying them in a subpage.

The design is deliberately dark, stripped back and photo-led — built around the brand’s own photography, so the clothes and the nights do the talking rather than the interface. We took the lead from labels like Stüssy, where the confidence comes from what isn’t on the page: minimal type, monochrome throughout, sharp edges, nothing decorative competing with the imagery.

The outcome

IGNOTUS now has a storefront that looks like the brand rather than like Shopify — one place where the clothing and the events both live, and an aesthetic that matches what people already know them for.
